From Commerce Township Hall the drive is M-5 to I-696 east, off at Greenfield, the exit after Southfield Road, and it is long enough that nobody wants to make it twice for one suit. Most second trips happen because something was left at home. Here is what to put in the car.
The shoes
The pair you’ll wear with the suit, not a pair like them. The hem is set to the heel in the room, and a hem set to a guess is a hem that gets reset, which is the second trip in its most common form.
The shirt, and the invitation
The shirt you’ll wear, because the jacket sleeve is set to its cuff, and a T-shirt at the fitting sets the sleeve to nothing. The invitation, or a photograph of it, because the consultant dresses you for the room on the card and not for the room in your head.
What can happen while you wait, and what can’t
Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, can often do small jobs while you wait, and a hem is usually one of them. For bigger work he quotes the job and confirms the completion date before he starts, so if the suit needs more than a hem, make the first trip well ahead of the date and the second one becomes a pickup, or a shipment, rather than a fitting.
