Custom starts at $599 here, and it buys two things that no amount of altering a rack suit can produce. Understanding which of the two you actually want makes the difference between a satisfying order and an expensive disappointment.
The first is your own geometry
Ben takes twenty measurements himself, and several of them record asymmetries that no rack suit acknowledges: one shoulder lower, one arm longer, a stance carried slightly forward. A jacket built around those hangs differently from a jacket altered toward them.
The second is the cloth
Bolts from Reda, Zegna, VBC, Marzotto and Style Biella, chosen deliberately rather than accepted because it happened to be what a finished suit was made in. For anyone who cares about cloth specifically, this is the whole reason to order.
Which one you want changes the conversation
If it’s geometry, the fittings matter most: there are two or three, and Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, is at the last one. The schedule turns on the cloth and on production, so ask Ben for the current timeline for your date. If it’s cloth, the first appointment matters most, and it should be unhurried.
