From Northwest Detroit, Greenfield Road leads toward our door. No freeway, no interchange, one street. That sounds like a minor convenience and it changes something structural about how a suit can be bought, because it makes coming back trivial.
Why coming back is the point
A suit is fitted twice if it’s fitted properly: once pinned, and once finished and worn. The second look catches what the first cannot, because a pinned suit is examined on a body standing still and a finished one is examined on a body moving.
What the second look typically finds
A sleeve a quarter inch long. A jacket that could come in slightly at the waist. Each one is nothing on its own, and together they separate a suit that merely fits from one that looks made for the man.
And the date is known up front
Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, keeps it simple: small jobs he can often do while you wait, and for bigger work he quotes the job and confirms the completion date before he starts. On a drive with no freeway in it, a return trip is manageable.
