At a wedding the size of the Meridian, 900 guests, you might want the one thing nobody else has: a tuxedo, with your groomsmen in suits. It works. It’s the oldest way to mark you out. It works on one condition, and most parties miss it.
The condition
The suits have to be as dark as the tuxedo. A black tuxedo next to navy suits reads as one man dressed for a different party. A black or midnight-blue tuxedo next to midnight or charcoal suits reads as you and your men. Pick the party’s cloth first, then the tuxedo, not the other way around.
Rent the tuxedo, buy the suits
The tuxedo is worn once, so it’s a rental fitted in person on our floor. The suits will be worn again, so the men buy them from one rack, on one order; ask about group pricing for parties of five or more. The cloth is chosen to sit beside the tuxedo.
The fitting, together
Come in together, all of you, so the cloths are held next to each other on the rack and not remembered from a phone. The tuxedo is fitted first and the suits after.
