John and Horace Dodge broke ground near Joseph Campau and Conant on June 10, 1910. The first Dodge car left the line in November 1914. Four years elapsed between the decision and the first output, which nobody at the time thought unreasonable, because that’s how long it takes to build something properly.
Nobody grants themselves four years now
Certainly not for clothes. A man decides he needs a suit and expects the problem solved inside an afternoon, which is achievable and is not the same as solving it well.
What a little time buys
The ability to try a second suit rather than take the first that closes. Room for an alteration that turns out to be bigger than a hem. And the chance to come back once and check the finished thing on a moving body.
Ask for the date
Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, does the small jobs, often while you wait, and for bigger work he quotes the job and confirms the completion date before he starts. Ask for his date on the first visit and plan around it. Four years is not required.
