Laurel Manor has been on Schoolcraft since 1988, long enough that a man who married there in its first years can walk his daughter down its aisle now. Some of the guests were at both. They remember the first suit, which was rented, and they’ll compare, which is unfair and is going to happen anyway. This is the suit to buy.
He’s in every photograph
The father of the bride is in the walk, the first dance, the toast and the table shot, and in half of them he’s standing beside the groom. His suit doesn’t need to match the party. It needs to be as dark, and as well fitted, as the one next to it. Then the two men at the front of the room read as the two men at the front of the room.
The fit at fifty-five
The body that rented the first suit is gone. That’s what the rack is for: 34 short to 70 long, portly included, so a man whose chest dropped and whose waist didn’t tries on suits cut for the shape he has now. The one that closes without a pull is the one, whatever cut he wore in 1990.
Buy it
Half-canvassed, $300 to $500, navy or charcoal. He’ll wear it to the next wedding in the family and the one after, and Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, fits it to him now, with the shoes he’ll walk her in.
