Plymouth is small enough and centered enough that the people at a wedding here are largely the people the couple will keep running into: at the square, at the shops, at the next wedding. It’s a pleasant way to live and it quietly settles the oldest question in wedding clothes.
Rent or buy, for the groom
In a transient city, renting is defensible: the guests disperse and the suit is never needed again. In a town like this the same people will see him dressed up several more times over a few years, and a suit that is his own gets easier and better each time.
So the groom buys
Half-canvassed, $300 to $500, navy or charcoal, which will do the next decade of weddings in the same circle without anyone thinking about it. The party can rent, on one order; ask about group pricing for parties of five or more.
And the fit carries over
Because a suit he owns can be adjusted as he changes, which a rental never can. Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, handles that, quoting each job before he starts.
