St. Clair Shores is organized around water: marinas both private and civic, boat dealers, restaurants facing the lake. A place like this holds a disproportionate number of its celebrations outdoors and in the warm half of the year, which is a genuine constraint on what a wedding party can wear.
The constraint is heat, not formality
Standing outside in July in a suit is survivable. Being photographed while you’re visibly suffering isn’t. The mistake men make is choosing a lighter color to cope, when color has almost nothing to do with it.
Weight is the lever
Ask the consultant for a cloth chosen for the month rather than for the look, and say the wedding is outdoors in summer. That instruction does more for comfort than any decision about shade.
And keep the party on one cloth
Outdoor daylight is unforgiving about mismatched navies in a way indoor light hides completely. One bolt for everyone, ordered together, and each man fitted individually by Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store. Before the order goes in, ask about group pricing for parties of five or more.
