Stevenson has about 1,881 students and Henry Ford II about 1,627, both inside Utica Community Schools, which puts roughly three and a half thousand young people into one district’s spring. Their proms land in the same broad season. That has a practical consequence for anybody renting a tuxedo, and it has nothing to do with stock running out.
It’s about the tailor, not the rack
A rental can always be found. What gets scarce in a busy few weeks is unhurried attention at the fitting and slack in the alterations queue. Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, can often do small jobs while you wait, but a few weeks a year are busy enough to stretch every number he quotes.
Which makes early a real advantage
Three weeks out is the usual advice and it exists for this reason: it leaves room for the fitting to find something that needs more than a hem.
What to bring when you come
The actual shoes he’ll dance in, and a photograph of the dress on his phone for the tie. Both are two-minute problems in advance and unsolvable on the day.
