The Michigan Air Line Trail runs nearly thirty miles between Wixom and Pontiac and cuts straight through the center of Walled Lake, and a Walled Lake groom’s party tends to be spread the length of it: a brother in Wixom, a college friend in Pontiac, the rest in between. Getting eight men from eight addresses into one photograph is the job, and the answer is one rack.
Why a rack and not a group text
Eight men choosing a navy from eight phones produce eight navies. Eight men standing in front of one rack produce one, because the cloth is held up against the next man’s shoulder and the argument is over in a minute. That’s the only reason to make everyone drive in on the same evening, and it’s enough.
The groom buys
Let the party rent, all on one order, and ask about group pricing for parties of five or more. The groom’s suit goes to every wedding in that circle for years, so it’s a purchase, and half-canvassed at $300 to $500 is the tier that holds its shape through all of them.
The fathers
Bring them the same evening. The rack runs 34 short to 70 long, portly included, so neither father is sent home to order something, and Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, pins the hems while the men are still in the suits.
