Walled Lake’s first consolidated school went up at 615 North Pontiac Trail in 1922, and the town has been schooling its own ever since. Every class eventually holds a reunion, and a reunion is a specific test of a suit: the people looking at it knew you at seventeen and are measuring you against that.
What they’ll notice
Whether it fits now. Not whether it’s expensive. A suit that fits the man who walks in reads as a man who’s doing fine; a suit from ten years ago that pulls at the button reads as the opposite, whatever it cost. That’s the whole brief.
The fix
Bring the old suit and put it on. If the shoulder still sits where it should, Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, can let out the waist and the sides and reset the hem, and small jobs he can often do while you wait. If the shoulder’s gone, it’s a new suit, and it should be navy, plain, and fitted at the mirror.
Which tier
Signature Wool, $259 to $299, if this is the suit you’ll wear for the next few years of these. Half-canvassed, $300 to $500, if you want the one that shapes to you over time.
