The rack here runs 34 short to 70 long, and for most grooms that’s the end of the search. Some live between the numbers even after separates: an arm the 44 long can’t reach, a shoulder that’s broad on a back that isn’t. If that’s you, with a date at one of the lake clubs and a photographer at the water, custom from $599 is the answer.
Who it’s for
The tall man whose sleeves are always short. The man who’s been altered toward a fit his whole life and never got there. A custom suit isn’t altered toward you. It’s cut to you. Twenty measurements, and Ben takes them.
The cloth and the date
The cloth comes from Reda, Zegna, VBC, Marzotto and Style Biella. A June wedding on a terrace and a November one in a banquet room want different weights, and the consultant says which.
The calendar
How long it runs depends on the cloth and on two to three fittings, the last with Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store. When you sit down with the swatches, ask Ben for the current timeline for your date.
