A wedding at Pine Lake Country Club leaves two photographs behind. The first is on the covered terrace at the water, in daylight and wind. The second is in one of the four banquet rooms, up to 280 people, under lights, with a flash. Dress for the first and the second one will catch you.
The terrace
Daylight off a lake is flat and honest. It shows a shoulder seam that sits past the bone, and it shows a sleeve that’s half an inch too long. What it forgives is color: a navy, a mid gray, even a soft brown all read well against water. So the terrace is a fit question. Get the shoulder right. The rest follows.
The room
A flash in a dark room does the opposite. It forgives a loose sleeve and punishes cloth. A shiny blend goes white in the photograph; a wool with some texture stays a suit. That’s the whole argument for the Signature Wool tier, $259 to $299, over an Everyday Classic for a wedding: not how it looks in the mirror, how it looks at eleven at night in someone’s phone.
One suit, both rooms
Bring the invitation, or a photograph of the room if you have one, and the consultant picks a cloth for the date and the light. Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, sets the hem to the shoes you’ll dance in. From the club it’s Orchard Lake Road down to I-696, east to Greenfield.
