If your wedding at First Presbyterian Church, 1669 West Maple, is a morning one, it runs a ceremony at eleven and a luncheon after. That’s a different day from a five o’clock ceremony and a dance. Dress for the evening version and you stand in the morning light looking like you came from the night before.
Morning rules
A tuxedo is evening wear. Before six it’s a costume. A mid-gray suit is the morning classic, navy is the safe alternative, and both photograph well in daylight. A white shirt, a silver or pale tie, a shoe in dark brown rather than black if the suit is gray.
The party matches the hour
Groomsmen in the same gray, on one order, with the discount that a party of five or more earns. The whole party is fitted together on our floor so the grays are one gray.
Cloth for a morning that warms up
Churches are cool at eleven and warm by the recessional. A mid-weight wool from the Signature Wool tier, $259 to $299, handles both. Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, fits you and the party in one visit.
