Cranbrook House on Lone Pine Road is an estate from the early 1900s, and a wedding there moves from the terrace and the reflecting pool into a ballroom older than anyone at the wedding. It is the most formal address a Bloomfield Hills couple can book, and it is not a room for a suit off a hanger.
Why the groom goes custom here
The photographs from Cranbrook get framed. A custom suit, from $599, is cut to twenty measurements and built over two to three fittings, so the shoulder sits and the jacket closes the way an estate photograph expects. Reda, Zegna, VBC, Marzotto and Style Biella are there above that. Ben walks you through it.
The calendar is the constraint
Two to three fittings means the suit isn’t a last-month decision. Come in when the date is set, not when the invitations go out, and the last fitting lands with room to spare.
What an old room wants
Charcoal or navy, a white shirt, a tie with one color in it. Nothing that looks like this year. The party can rent or buy alongside, on one order; ask about group pricing for parties of five or more. Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, does the final fitting for the groom and the sleeves and hems for everyone else.
