Summit on the Park is a recreation center that Canton runs for its residents, with programmes and classes, and it also has a Grand Ballroom that takes weddings. A venue like that is a different proposition from a hall built solely for events, and couples sometimes misread what it’s asking for.
The misreading in both directions
Some assume a municipal building means dress it down, and turn up under-dressed at their own wedding. Others over-correct into black tie in a building where guests parked next to a swimming pool. Both feel slightly off to everyone present.
The tone that works
A proper suit, worn properly, which is the register almost every wedding in a room like this actually wants. Not a tuxedo unless the couple has asked for one, and not a jacket-and-jeans compromise either.
Which suit
Navy or charcoal, plain, half-canvassed at $300 to $500 for a groom who’ll wear it again for years. The party takes one cloth between them, ordered together; ask about group pricing for parties of five or more. Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, sets each length.
