Oakland University pins its nursing graduates when the program ends, and the ceremony belongs entirely to the person being pinned. Nobody is looking at her father. Her father is nevertheless in a great many of the photographs taken that day, standing next to her, and those photographs are kept for fifty years.
The father
He needs one suit that does this, the wedding it will lead to, and whatever comes after. Navy, plain, cut to the man he is now rather than the one who last bought a suit: the rack runs 34 short to 70 long, portly included, so the shape he has is on it. Signature Wool, $259 to $299, is the tier for a suit at that frequency.
The brother
Usually younger, usually in his first suit, and usually about to be told he’ll grow into it. He won’t. He’ll be photographed in it next month. Buy the shoulder that fits him today, which is the seam that can’t be let out later, and let the sleeves and waist follow him for a year. An Everyday Classic, $139 to $159, is the right money for that.
Both at once
Bring them together with the shoes they’ll wear, and Roman, master tailor at Lincoln Tailor, on site in our store, quotes each job before he starts.
