Every Labor Day weekend, Arts, Beats and Eats fills downtown Royal Oak with stages on the closed streets, and the crowds come with them. It’s a wonderful weekend. It’s also a hard one for getting a groomsman from a hotel on Main Street to a fitting anywhere.
Fit the party early
So if your wedding falls on that weekend, and plenty do, the fittings move earlier. The whole party comes in together for one fitting, on one order. The men flying in can be measured where they live. Ask the wedding team when they should come in to try everything on. Roman at Lincoln Tailor does basic work, often the same day. For bigger work he quotes the job and confirms the completion date before he starts, so everyone knows before the festival whether a second trip is needed.
Cloth for an eighty-degree Saturday
The other thing a September wedding wants is the right cloth. Early September in Michigan can be eighty degrees on a Saturday and sixty on the Sunday brunch. Our Signature Wool line, $259 to $299, breathes in the heat and holds a press when the evening cools. The tag tells you the wool content on every suit.
The drive, even that weekend
The showroom isn’t downtown. It’s south of I-696 at the Greenfield exit, off the festival’s map.
